Syfar, through a strategy aimed at environmental sustainability, produces 60% of the electricity and 100% of the thermal energy necessary for its production cycle from renewable sources. Electricity production takes place via a 50kwH photovoltaic system, which was joined by another 150kwH system during 2020.
The natural blond cork panel produced by Syfar differs from black cork as it is produced at a low temperature without damaging the physical structure of the cork, thus reducing the consumption of thermal energy.
Syfar's eco-sustainable choices also concern the cork decortication process and the care of the forest. Syfar has launched the procedures for forest certification and for the certification of the chain of custody, thus certifying its forest management according to the "sustainability" standard.
